Producers & Products

A Whole Host of New Folk

Wednesday 25th of April 2012

We’ve been a little quite on the blog recently, but that’s because we’ve been flat out getting a new design of the site up and ready for your eyes to enjoy. You can see it for yourself if you go to www.loveyourlarder.com

And the design isn’t the only new thing on the site, we’ve got loads of new producers to introduce to you - from gourmet vanilla to artisan whiskies, old fashioned confectionary to hand printed tea towels (yes we are now stocking some lovely homeware!)

So here’s a little something about each of them and what they do so well. If you know anyone who’d like to join us, you can contact us on hello@loveyourlarder.com.

We are now working with two wonderful British designers, Edith and Bob make a whole range of tea towels and greetings cards including the tea time treats above whilst A Farmer’s Daughter designs these fantastic meat cup aprons and mugs amongst others. They are inspired and made on her family farm in Staffordshire.

For all of you with a sweet tooth you will be very pleased to meet Mr Stanley’s and The Cocoa Mistress and The Grown Up Chocolate Company.

Mr Stanley’s create classic british confectionary like hand broken toffee and violet creams. Their packaging is reminiscent of turn of the century sweet shops - We love it and think it will make some very cute presents.

The Cocoa Mistress is based in Kent and makes all of her chocolate and confectionary by hand, in small batches and uses organic ingredients wherever possible. We are fascinated by the look of her Dark chocolate ginger ganache (below) and have fallen in love with her bags of chewy caramels

We love the chocolate bars we enjoyed as a kid and now we are proper, sensible grown ups (well, we try to be) we want a grown up chocolate bar. The Grown Up Chocolate Company do just this, with decadent chocolate bars like their Crunchy Praline Wonderbar. We have to say our favourite is there indecently tasty Salted Peanut Caramel Cracker bar

Always on the look out for regional specialities, we have Bara Brith Cake from Clam’s Cakes which is a traditional Welsh tea loaf. It’s delicious served simply with butter and look how nicely it comes packaged. They’ve been in the cake business for over 30 years so know a thing or two about baking!

If it’s specialist ingredients you are looking we have two new providers, Gourmet Herbs and Gourmet Vanilla. Gourmet Herbs have a huge range of spice mixes, herbal infusions, specialist dried mushrooms  and bouquet garnis for various dishes. We can’t wait to get creative with their forest mix mushrooms.

Gourmet Vanilla are importers of the finest vanilla pods from India. They are a father/daughter team with unprecedented experience in Vanilla growing and have strong links with the farms they import from. Not only is the vanilla of superb quality, it is sold at unbeatable prices (about 30 pods for £9.50), perfect for any of you baking fanatics out there.

And for those of you who are looking for specialist drinks rather than ingredients, The Whisky Tasting Company will be just the thing for you. They have two sets on the site which have been specially chosen for us! They feature single malt, grain and blended whiskies from well known and hard to find distilleries throughout Scotland and Wales. Presented in a beautiful box, they are the perfect gift for any whisky lover.

Phew, that’s a lot of new producers to get through, we always have new producers joining us and you can now see them all here! They’re a talented bunch and we are thrilled to work with every one of them.
