Introducing...Green's of Glastonbury, Niko B. Organic Chocolates & Jealous Sweets
Thursday 26th of January 2012We’ve been busy since coming back for the New Year and have a whole host of new producers to tell you about. From traditional farmhouse cheddars to edible chocolate boxes, here’s a little something about a handful of the very talented producers we are now working with.

The Green family have been making cheese for the last four generations and have perfected the recipe for their traditional mature farmhouse cheddar. Because they use their own dairy herd for the milk to make their cheese the highest quality is always ensured. They are located in West Pennard, just 3 miles away from Glastonbury and benefit from the lush low lying flat lands of the area.
Those are some very well looked after cows so of course the cheese they make is of the finest quality. As well as the famed traditional cheddar, they also make a double gloucester, hard goats cheese and unpasteurised cheddar. You can get them all here, perfect for a cheese board or classic ploughmans sandwich.

Have you ever had a box of chocolates that was so moreish you were almost tempted to eat the box they came in? Well perhaps it’s just us with the appetite for cardboard but the amazing people of Niko B. Organic Chocolates make divine chocolates which come in their very own edible chocolate box. Definitely a present that would impress. They come in a small or large size, decorated with delicate patterns and inside there are a selection of Niko B.’s fresh organic chocolate truffles. Order yours now, we think they would be gladly received this Valentine’s Day - as they are made to order they take a week to be ready.
As well as these incredible edible chocolate boxes, Niko B. also make some very interesting chocolatey snacks such as Caju which is made from clusters of buttery caramelised toasted cashew nuts coated in sesame seeds and a tiny touch of the finest welsh sea salt before being dipped in dark chocolate. We think this makes for a totally luxurious after dinner treat. You can get the Caju here and see the other marvellous products Niko B. make here.
Sweets are pretty good aren’t they? They all take us back to childhood and spending all our pocket money on a bulging bag of pick ‘n’ mix at the local corner shop. But the sweets from Jealous Sweets are even better because they are tailored for people with special dietary requirements who often can’t enjoy the brands we find on our supermarket shelves.
They sweets are all vegetarian society approved and gelatine free - so they don’t have any nasty cow parts in them - and are also gluten free. They even do a box which is 100% organic.
Hurrah! Sweets for everyone. They come in these beautifully presented boxes, so they make sweets feel like a grown up treat even though there’s all our favourite childhood shapes (including cola bottles!). You can see the entire range here - but just like your mother would say - don’t eat them all at once!
