Oleifera was created by a collection of farming families, all dedicated to producing rapeseed oil of the highest quality. The original Oleifera brands, Naturally Northumberland and Brilliantly Borders, reflected the provenance of the seed produced between these growers. Recently, Oleifera has partnered with a group of like-minded Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire farmers to create a third brand, Essentially English.

PASSION

What makes Oleifera stand apart from other oils, even other cold pressed rapeseed oils, is the passion of our farmers to produce the very best seed and the care taken in the storage, crushing, filtering and bottling of the oil to make sure each bottle is traceable back to each field. The result is a collection of three exceptional oils.

Packed full of natural goodness, our wonderful natural oil has a healthy balance of omega 3,6 and 9. It also has half the saturated fat of olive oil, which makes out naturally golden oil a must have for your kitchen and a healthier choice for everyone.

THE BEST FLAVOUR

Blessed with a subtle nutty flavour, Oleifera cold pressed rapeseed oil is ideal for all kinds of cooking, baking, stir-frying and drizzling- it’s the perfect all-rounder. It is no wonder rapeseed oil is becoming the culinary oil of choice for top chefs around the country.

CONSISTENCY

Not all cold pressed rapeseed oils are the same and many vary greatly, particularly in terms of taste and stability. Our variety of cold pressed continues to perform consistently in terms of flavour – mellow, nutty, fresh and smooth; colour – always the same rich golden yellow with stability and no cloudiness. Having six years experience we also know that it consistently performs over different growing seasons, different soil types and different climatic conditions.

TRACEABILITY

The story of our oil is much like any other food really - seed goes in the ground, rain falls, the seed grows, the farmer harvests the seed, the seed gets crushed and the oil gets bottled. Except, unlike many products in today's world, we can tell you the name of the man who planted the seed, the name and exact location of the field in which it was planted, how many inches of rain fell on the seed and even the names of the people who drove the tractors at harvest time (and the names of their wives and children)! We can trace every single bottle of Oleifera to the exact field in which it was grown.

CHEF ENDORSEMENT

We work closely with a number of great Chefs including Lincolnshire’s lovely Rachel Green, who is helping us raise the profile of Cold pressed rapeseed oil. Encouraged and inspired by the growing desire of British people to choose great quality home grown products over imported alternatives, cold pressed rapeseed oil is fast becoming the culinary oil of choice for many of the country's top chefs.

BEST QUALITY

We work to the highest possible standards; currently SALSA accredited, we are soon to complete BRC. This will result in us being the only cold pressed rapeseed oil producer able to offer the level of commitment to quality and service. Removing all impurities through 5 stages of filtration we are offering a perfectly pure oil which stays fresher for longer.

FAME!

Last year we saw our bottles feature regularly on BBC2’s Great British Menu and attended the Grand Banquet, hosted by HRH Prince of Wales, courtesy of Michelin Star Chef Kenny Atkinson who has always championed great local produce. Oleifera is currently featuring in Channels 4’s Cookery School hosted by Chefs Gizzi Erskine and Richard Corrigan.
